Election by Declaration Announcement

It is hereby determined that Bradford P. Tenney was the only candidate nominated for the Third Member to be elected to the Cambridge Retirement Board.  Therefore, at the meeting of the Cambridge Retirement Board held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, the Board voted to declare elected the Third Member to the Cambridge Retirement Board and that no election shall be held.

His term will commence on December 1, 2011 and expire on December 1, 2014.  He will serve in all respects as though he had been elected by election.

Elevator Maintenance at Retirement Office

Due to scheduled maintenance, the Retirement office at 255 Bent Street will not have elevator service from August 15th through August 26th.  Visitors will have to walk up three flights of stairs in order to reach our offices.
 

NOTICE OF NOMINATION TO THE CAMBRIDGE RETIREMENT BOARD

An election is to be held on November 15, 2011 for the purpose of electing a member or retiree of the Cambridge Retirement System to serve on the Cambridge Retirement Board for a term of three (3) years, said term to commence on December 1, 2011.

All holding membership in the Cambridge Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Cambridge Retirement Board a nomination paper containing the signatures and addresses of at least twenty (20) members and/or retirees of this system.

The nomination papers must be filed on or before 12:00 P.M. on Friday, August 19, 2011.  Nomination papers may be obtained at the Cambridge Retirement Office located at 255 Bent Street, 3rd Floor in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

 

PERAC Mailing for Disability Retirees

PERAC will mail the 2010 Annual Statement of Earned Income on February 23, 2011.  All Disability Retirees must file their Section 91A Annual Statements of Earned Income with PERAC by April 19, 2011.
 

Year End Forms Mailed

1099 forms for retirees and refunded members were mailed on January 25.  If you have not received your form, please wait one week before reporting it lost.

Benefit verification forms were mailed on January 13.  All retirees and beneficiaries must complete this form and return it to the retirement office by April 15, 2011. If you need another form mailed to you, please call the office, or click here to download a copy.

Annuity Savings Fund statements showing the account balance for active employees will be mailed by the end of February.

 

2010 Tax Forms On Way

1099-R forms for retirees and refunded members will be mailed by January 31.
Please allow one week for the Post Office to deliver your form before
reporting the form missing.

All retirees are required to submit a Pension Verification Form annually,
certifying that they are alive and still collecting their allowance. These
forms will be mailed by the end of January and are due back to the
Retirement Office by April 15th.

Annuity Savings Statements showing the account balances for active employees
will be mailed by the end of February.

RETIREMENT BOARD ELECTION NOTICE

Nominations are now closed for election to a seat on the Cambridge Retirement Board.  Ballots will be mailed to all active members and retirees on Monday, August 23.  The ballots must be returned to the Cambridge Election Commission by Tuesday, September 28 at 3:00 PM to be counted.

The counting of the ballots will begin at 2:00 pm in the second floor conference room located at 344 Broadway, Cambridge on Tuesday, September 28,
2010.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR JULY PENSION PAYMENT

The July Retirement Allowance direct deposit payments will be credited on either Saturday July 31, 2010 or Monday, August 2, 2010 not on Friday July 30, 2010 as scheduled.  We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you.
