Welcome to the City of Cambridge Retirement System

The Cambridge Retirement System (CRS) is one of 106 contributory retirement systems in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Retirement System, governed by a five member board, is subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32.

The CRS´s members are actively working for the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge Public Health Commission and Cambridge Redevelopment Authority or are retired from one of the above entities.  Membership in the Cambridge Retirement System is mandatory for nearly all half-time and full-time employees.

Our office at 100 CambridgePark Drive, Suite 101, is open on Monday from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and on Friday from 8:30 am to Noon.  Our telephone number is 617-868-3401.  For more information, please see our contact listing.

If you are visiting our office, please note this information about parking and construction around our building:

The Retirement Board office is a two-minute walk from the Alewife T station, and we encourage all visitors to use public transportation when possible.

Due to ongoing construction near our building, parking is currently limited. If you are driving, you may wish to allow yourself extra time as it is likely you will have to walk some distance from the far end of the lot. Visitor parking is available behind the building. The lot is gated, but all visitors to the building are allowed access to the lot. Enter the parking lot near the main entrance of the building. Bear left as you pass behind the building, passing in front of the construction area and approach the gated area. Press the button at the gate and announce you are visiting the Cambridge Retirement Board. If there is no answer, please call the security desk at 617-293-9959. The security officer will be able to admit you. If you require accommodation, please call the office in advance of your visit. We may be able to arrange parking in a loading area if you are not able to walk from the parking lot.

There is a valet service available in the parking lot.  If you wish to use it, you can leave your keys with the valets once you are past the secuity gate.  This service is provided by our building manager in order to alleviate the issues caused by the ongoing construction.  The valets cannot accept tips.

There is also limited on-street parking on the odd-numbered side of CambridgePark Drive. There are no legal parking spaces on the even-numbered side of the street. Further, visitors to our office are not allowed to park in the garage behind 150 CambridgePark Drive.

The Cambridge Retirement Board has voted to name Chris Burns as Public Records Officer for the retirement office.  For additional information on the records provided on this website, or for information about how to make a public records request, please click here.
