Welcome to the City of Cambridge Retirement System

The Cambridge Retirement System (CRS) is one of 106 contributory retirement systems in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Retirement System, governed by a five member board, is subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32.

The CRS´s members are actively working for the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge Public Health Commission and Cambridge Redevelopment Authority or are retired from one of the above entities.  Membership in the Cambridge Retirement System is mandatory for nearly all half-time and full-time employees.

Our office at 100 CambridgePark Drive, Suite 101, is open on Monday from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and on Friday from 8:30 am to Noon.  Our telephone number is 617-868-3401.  For more information, please see our contact listing.

 The Retirement Board office is a two-minute walk from the Alewife T station, and we encourage all visitors to use public transportation when possible.

Visitor parking is available in the 140 CambridgePark Drive garage, in the area behind our building. The garage is set back from the street, and immediately behind 150 CambridgePark Drive.  You should approach the garage using the driveway between 150 and 160 CambridgePark Drive.  If the entry gate is closed, push the button at the gate and tell the attendant that you are visiting the Cambridge Retirement Board. Handicapped spaces are available on the east side of the garage, the closest side to our building at 100 CambridgePark Drive.

There is also limited on-street parking on the odd-numbered side of CambridgePark Drive. There are no legal parking spaces on the even-numbered side of the street. If you have any difficulty, please call the Retirement Office at 617-868-3401.


The Cambridge Retirement System is looking for applicants interested in serving as the 5th member of the Retirement System.  The 5th member works with the other four members to ensure that the Retirement System is run in accordance with MGL Chapter 32 as well as local board procedures and policies.  Applicants for the 5th member seat may not be an employee, retiree, member of the Cambridge Retirement System or an official of the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge Redevelopment Authority or Cambridge Health Alliance.  The
